





Bill began skating as an adult over 20 years ago, and throughout his professional career has earned numerous medals and awards, including ISI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, where he was selected to solo in 1999, earning the GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD and also at the STATE GAMES OF AMERICA.
Bill possesses extensive experience in judging all levels of ISI TESTING and has been asked to judge at ISI competitions at the local, national and world level.
He is a member of the PROFESSIONAL SKATERS ASSOCIATION, a registered coach with USFSA, and is a GOLD CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL with the ICE SKATING INSTITUTE. He is also a Charter Board Member of DCFSC.
Bill coaches the Learn to Skate program, is available for private lessons, power skating, and endurance training to build stamina. He has the ability to motivate competitive and recreational skaters of all ages and abilities to become the best they can be. He also specializes in all phases of music editing.
Karel began skating as a child at the age of 5 at local ponds and lakes with her family. After attending the Ice Capades and seeing Dorothy Hamill win an Olympic Gold Medal, she was hooked. When the Ice-a-Rama opened in Wilkes-Barre in 1976, she was there on opening day, and 30 years later, loves it as much as day one.
She was a Learn to Skate Coach at the Ice-a-Rama, has volunteered for the Special Olympics and initiated the first figure skater from the Ice-a-Rama to perform at the former Casey Arena now Mohegan Sun. Through her public affiliations, she has met Tara Lapinski, Todd Eldredge, Kurt Browning, Michael Weiss, Sasha Cohen, and Nancy Kerrigan along with several other Olympic and National winning skaters.
Karel is a member of the PROFESSIONAL SKATERS ASSOCIATION, a member of USFSA, and is a coach for the Learn to Skate program at the Rink at Coal Street Park. She is a Charter Board Member and publicity chair for DCFSC. She is married to John Zubris and they have a son Jason, 11.
